new<castle!

Hot News fresh off the press this month is that Geordie's will soon be able to pop in to new<id studios too! Clive Colman, new<id and Burlingtons co-founder, has just been scouring Newcastle with a fine comb to find the perfect premises, and succeeded! The newcastle studio is opening in Spring 2008, so get ready to book your appointment and look and feel fab!

The Alternative Hair Show

Burlingtons are unveiling their new collection for The Alternative Hair Show on October 14th at The Royal Albert Hall. The collection is all about fire, energy and fun and is based around a solo dancer that appeared on the Kylie Tour, who mixes martial arts, tumbling and gymnastics into a show-stopping performance! As well as being a fab evening out, packed with enough hair revelations to keep you inspired for the rest of the year, money raised from the event will be donated to Leukaemia Reseach, so it's a truly inspiring event all-round!

Stop The Press!

new<id cosmetics is being featured by several magazines this month, as celebs and beauty fans alike are buzzing about our products!

We're 'Treat Of The Week' in the launch edition of First Magazine! Hannah Betts, Beauty Director, had this to say; 'new<id i-glow in Ice-Pop, £16, is the best simulator of rude health I have ever come across - and believe me, I've been round the blusher block a few times in my life.'

i-fix is being featured in Reveal and Star magazines, as the must-have product to sort out those brows! In Star magazine, it is Jamelia's 'Powder Room Secret' to getting her sexy arches, and in Reveal, i-fix is part of 'Heroes' star Hayden Panettiere's beauty routine in the feature 'Hot New Trend'!

And ever wondered how supermodel Heidi Klum achieved her bold new look? i-smoulder is the firm favourite for the blonde beauty, as revealed in Hot Stars (OK) magazine!

Why not follow in their footsteps and give yourself a treat at www.newidcosmetics.com!

Get The Look - Keira Knightley
Get The Look - Keira Knightley

Keira is well known for being a low maintenance gal but when she hits the red carpet she is the epitome of understated beauty. Her secret is to accentuate just one of her features, usually her eyes. To recreate this look, start with i - smoulder Smoky Eye Pencil in charcoal and line the inside of the eye with the pencil end, blink hard and repeat a couple of time to build up the colour. Now with the cream eye shadow end, run the sponge around the lash line above and below the eye, and blend away any edges. Add a little more to the outside corners and sweep through the socket line. Now use i - fix to groom your eyebrows into place and sweep on a couple of coats of mascara. Recreate Keira’s glowing complexion with i - glow Shimmer Powder taking care to apply a little more to the apples of the cheeks and finish with i - gloss Lip Gloss in coco pop.

If you want to steal Keira's style the easy way, why not book yourself a new<id experience and ask our make-up artists to recreate this look for you!

HELP! In Need Of A Makeover NOW! - Kelly Osbourne
HELP! In Need Of A Makeover NOW! - Kelly Osbourne

I can't be the only person surprised that Kelly Osbourne has never appeared in this section before! She has had many bad looks, from a Courtney-Love-circa-1996 inspired peroxide look to a gothic drag queen dragged-through-a-hedge-backwards look (as pictured, right), but she never seems to get it right. To be fair, she was young and thrust into the limelight before she had the chance to blossom, but now, turning 23 years old this month, the girl needs to pull up her fish-nets, and get a makeover for her birthday! We don't expect Ozzy's daughter to lose her individual rock-chick style and become another blonde barbie lookalike, but if she fancies popping in for a makeover, we'll transform her into a beautiful rock chick!

Get the Chop!
Get the Chop!

We managed to get some time with in-demand International Artistic Director and all round follicle guru, Yuki Fung, just before she was whizzed off to the Tribe Hair Show, to find out the trends for our tresses in October. Yuki told us that the 'bob' is out of date and the trend is to go for a much more choppy, texturised cut. To maintain the style and texture of your choppy cut whilst getting a glossy finish, mix Redken's rough paste with Redken's glass serum.

Colour-wise, go darker for autumn and winter, with rich warm browns and reds. If you're a blonde and you fancy going darker, make sure you do it gradually, not in one fell swoop! Get semi-permanent colour, and wash with Redken's Color Extend shampoo.

You can 'get the chop' by Yuki herself, or any other stylist of your choice, if you make an appointment at Burlingtons, so why not get your funky new style this October?

Rupert Says... How to get Beautiful Matt Skin
Rupert Says... How to get Beautiful Matt Skin

This season's hot looks are all about velvet matt skin. In some cases, this starts with the correct skin care. For some of you whose skin is particularly oily, try using an oil free moisturiser to cut down the shine. There are many foundations on the market that have a matt finish to them but to keep your skin looking matt you should set your foundation with a loose powder. The secret is to apply with a powder puff and really press the powder into the foundation. To finish, buff off the excess powder with a large brush. Pressed powder just won’t do the trick, they have waxes and oils in them that will react with your foundation causing them to separate.

new<id cosmetics will be launching i - finish in November, a translucent loose powder finely milled for a flawless finish, so watch this space!

No plans for this weekend? Why not come and visit the new<id cosmetics team on stand H128 at Salon International at the Excel centre in London’s Docklands. You’ll get to meet the team, test out the latest new<id products and get all your make-up questions answered by the team.
