We're bringing in the New Year in style, with Rupert offering us make-up tips to recreate Cheryl Cole's new look and top hair trends from follicle-guru Ashley.

Yes, it is official, Britney Spears really does need help!
Hundreds of you voted to have your say as to which of our celebrities was in most desperate need of a new < id makeover, and although Kelly Osbourne was in front at the start, soon Britney took a strong lead, to win herself the not-very sought after award of 'Celebrity Most In Need Of A Makeover 2007'!
If Britney wants to drive her Jeep towards the UK (preferably without any children balanced on her lap) and pop into one of our studios, we promise to sort her out! Although, I do hope that 2008 will be Britney's chance to have a fresh start and return to her former glory, as right now emergency help with her 'look' may only be the tip of the iceberg.

Mrs Cole has been looking fantastic recently with her fab new chocolate brown hair and fringe. With a new hairdo comes a new make-up look and here’s how to recreate it...
Cheryl loves to do dark eyes and the easiest way to achieve that look is with the i - smoulder pencil in charcoal. Start by lining the inside of your eye with the eye liner end, and blink hard and repeat a couple of times. Now with the eye shadow end, start at the lash line and blend upwards and over the eyelid blending away at the socket line. Finish your eyes with plenty of mascara.
Now apply a small amount of foundation to your cheeks, tip of your nose, tip of your chin and forehead, and blend well. Cheryl has really started to be more adventurous with her lip colours and it works really well with her new darker hair colour. Start by applying a little foundation to the lips then very carefully line with a nude lip liner. Try i - pout in Berry Bronze.
If you are wearing stronger eyes and lips, always apply your blusher last, to make sure your look is balanced. i - blush in Ipanema is great for this look. Simply run the angled blusher brush up and down the three colours, suck in your cheeks and sculpt under the cheek bones. Your look is now complete.

I can hardly believe it is 2008 already, 2007 has been an amazing year for new<id cosmetics, we have met literally thousands of women. We have had an amazing success with Debenhams especially with our stand in Oxford Circus and last year alone we have opened in nearly 30 new salons and spas!
Throughout the year we have been at some very prestigious events such as Saturday Night Diva’s, The Royal Variety Performance and The British Comedy Awards. At these events we have gained some new celebrity clients like the lovely Jamelia who has recommended i - smoulder in several publications, Leona Lewis, Natasha Beddingfield and Kathryn Jenkins to name but a few!
In December we were lucky enough to have a stand at The Clothes Show Live at the Birmingham NEC. Yet again this was a resounding success for us and in the 5 days that we were there we made up over 2,000 women. With demonstrations on our own stage from ‘yours truly’ and a chance for all our clients to have their photo taken at the stand and emailed to them straight away, everyone had a great time. The two most popular products at the show were of course, i - smoulder and also i - bronze in Rio.

We got hold of International Art Director, Ashley Gaunt, to find out about the hair trends for the new year.
According to Ashley, it is all about super 'femme' style. A great way to revamp short bobs and crops is to braid and french-plait the front section, which is how Ashley was wearing her own hair today! Use Redken Glass serum to keep it sleek. The 50's 'dressed hair' look is still very much in, with curls and finger waves looking ultra feminine and glamorous. Use Redken Forceful Spray or Spray Starch for lift and hold. For the finger waves, apply Redken's Solid Water and dry under the hairdryer.
Colour-wise, reds and chestnuts are the hot tip, and if you're a blonde, get rid of that yellow and go strawberry! For the more daring of you, try a panel of colour round the front of your fringe or front section of your hair, like a shadow that frames your face.

Just wanted to get in touch to say thanks for everything! My mum and I had such a great day on our experience, and it meant a lot to my mum as it was her 40th birthday! She couldn't stop looking in the mirror for the rest of the day, and we have already put the framed pictures up in our living room!
